There really is nothing like geting outside and finding some rhythm and some singletrack and some speed and some adrenaline. I am enjoying being back on my bicycle. And eating well. And reading more. But, and there is always a but, the past months have been trying. New job; going better. Vacations; over. House guests; gonzo. School; about to start. Routine; about to be had.
I like having a routine. In fact I have the majority of my weekdays scripted. Seriously. I know - sad - but I need to do this in order to be effective, to find that singletrack state of mind.

This is my gym. This is what Marin Fit is all about. Coffee. Ezekiel toast with a poached egg and a half of an avocado; breakfast. Then a short spin on the mountain bike. I am pressed for time today, what with family birthdays, impending house guests, and a pleatora of other chores. So, that being said, a shot workout is better than no workout. I feel much better about myself; better about the day, and I am certainly looking forward to the Dawn Patrol MTB (that's mountain bike) ride with the crew tomorrow. Amen.
Oh, and I will throw down the MF (Marin Fit) Circuit work out and a walk later in the day. The time is nigh, friends. Nothing, I mean nothing tastes as good as fit feels.

I have been getting some good time in on the bike. Lots of rides. Not a ton of mileage, though I have been consistent, which is the key ... for me. And I have been riding some dirt on the road bike, as can be sen in the photo above.
Today I begin some interval work. Why? Good question. I am tired of being tired and need some speed and high intensity work. That's why.

So I have ridden 15 of the last 19 days. Still fat, just a faster kind of fat. The rides have been short and ... cold. But they have been consistent and frequent. I have been tending more garden than freeway; for those of you who don't know that means more dirt and less road. I like the road but no where near as much as the dirt. It's like the difference between masturbating and the real deal; both work but the real deal is way better.
Not bad but not the same.

HAS ANYONE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS GAL? MY GAWD. SHE IS ON FIRE AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHECKING HER OUT. HER NAME IS .... Elle Anderson.
The boys and i saw one of these bad mofos at the top of Lucas Valley ridge. Remember, we are not alone out there.
Oh, and like I said I have been riding, just added the Strava widget to the right. Check me out and follow the madness.

Read THIS. This same dude led me out, the first to go dirt crit style, at the now defunct Cactus Cup. He led me down the wrong path and in doing so got me canned from the evening crit. And when I petitioned toget let in because the douche on the lead moto got me lost and added time to my, well, time I got DQ'd. he did not step up and defend his mistake.
SO NOT A STAND UP DUDE. CAPITALISTIC PIG ALL THE WAY.
BUY TREK, GIANT OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN SPECIALIZED.
BE ABOUT THE BIKE, NOT THE BUCK.
